So it's time for my first weigh-in, as promised!
Height: 5"2' (just to give you some perspective on the rest of the numbers)
Weight: 135lbs (9st 9lbs)
Bust: 36.6in
Waist: 30.5in
Belly: 38in
Hips: 39.5in
Thighs: 23in
Arm: 11in
So I'll be doing weekly weigh-ins every Monday, but will probably be updating measurements every month or so, I guess we'll just see how that bit goes.
In 4 weeks (well, 3 weeks and 5 days now... agh!) I'm going on holiday with my family, so my first target will be for then. Now, this target isn't going to be to 'look good in a bikini', as it's hardly a bikini holiday... We're going skiing. Well, mum and dad ski, me and my brother snowboard but yeah. So my target is to be fit enough to actually be on the slopes all day! We go skiing every year and normally I'm pretty active and so fitness isn't a problem, but since starting university (and a little while before that actually, too) I've done nothing but sit on my butt. But I've joined the gym here and it's about a 2 minute walk from my flat so I have NO excuse not to use it! Right?
As well as my fitness goal I would also like to be down to 9st by the time I go, as I'm not entirely convinced I'll be able to fit into my ski clothes at the size I am now... Oops!

So, what's this blog all about?
Hey, I'm Shannon, a first year student from the UK currently studying Biochemistry at uni.
I'm trying to increase both my health and fitness, along with dropping a few pounds, all on a student budget! I'll be posting my fitness/weight updates, what-I-ate-today's, weekly meal plans/shopping lists, cheap healthy recipes, workouts and any other bits and pieces that pop into my head.
